Emily Finchum-Mason

Emily Finchum-Mason started the Evans School Ph.D. program in Public Policy and Management in 2015. Prior to joining the program, she worked as Research Associate for the Spirit of Harmony Foundation, designing advocacy campaigns to assist in the implementation of music education programs in underserved schools. She also served as a high school science teacher, and as a Research Team Coordinator for Civic Lab.

Emily holds a Master of Science in Leadership and Policy Studies from DePaul University and a Master of Arts in Teaching from National Louis University. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Illinois, Chicago. Emily’s research interests include education policy, nonprofit organizations, policy implementation, and public management.
