Food processor Cargill is closing a MO facility; decision reverberates to local nonprofit that received 160 lbs of donated meat a week.
"Cargill's decision to leave Springfield is impacting more than the 118 workers who were laid off. The food processing company closed this week-- meaning the company's charitable donations have come to a stop. Freeway Ministries in Springfield received 160 pounds of meat a week from Cargill. The organization took in its last donation Thursday." --Linsday Clein and Mike Pitts, OzarksFirst.com
