You might not be surprised to learn Giving Tuesday 2014 set new record for online contributions: nearly $46 million, a 36% increase over last year.
"According to a report released by the Case Foundation, which includes data from Blackbaud as well as DonorPerfect, GlobalGiving, Network for Good and Razoo, an estimated total of $45.7 million was raised both offline and online on Giving Tuesday this year. Total donations grew by 63%. These stats are particularly poignant, considering U.S. Black Friday sales dropped 11.3% this year (despite an increase in online sales), and Cyber Monday sales were only up 8% — less than expected." -- Matt Petronzio, Mashable.com
