The recently released Chronicle report on U.S. giving has a new interactive feature where you can type in a zip code and see how charitable its residents are.

"My neighbors gave to charities at a rate of 3.79 percent of their income in 2012, down from 4.81 percent in 2006. The median contribution was $5,870, for a total of about $42 million in gifts. I know this because of a cool new tool and analysis developed by the Chronicle of Philanthropy that slices and dices income and donation data from the Internal Revenue Service." -- Ginny Graham, the Tulsa World
