Christian Post on Chronicle of Philanthropy study showing that "most religious" states were also the most generous states in charitable giving.
"The states whose residents give the most to charity are more likely to have high levels of religiosity, less wealth, and were more likely to support Republican candidates in recent presidential elections. The states whose residents gave the least, on the other hand, were more likely to be secular, rich and Democratic, according to a new study by the Chronicle of Philanthropy." -- the Christian Post
This stark contrast between the mostly leftist classical music establishment and the much more generous cultural conservatives may help explain much of why orchestras are having trouble with their fundraising. They are appealing to the wrong people and barking up the wrong trees.
