Wealthiest Russian, Alisher Usmanov, is also his nation's most philanthropic: He gave away $194 million in 2013, which puts him at 14th on global list.
"Alisher Usmanov, Russia’s wealthiest man, was also its most generous philanthropist in last year, donating $194-million, according to a Bloomberg survey of the country’s 25 richest people and their giving. Mr. Usmanov, a metallurgy and telecommunications tycoon, focused his giving on education, sports, and culture in dislodging Roman Abramovich, owner of England’s Chelsea soccer team, as Russia’s biggest donor." -- the Chronicle of Philanthropy
