Jim Irsay is both owner of Indianapolis Colts and fan of Jack Kerouac; his recent $10,000 gift to nonprofit in Kerouac's hometown is their largest ever.

"The owner of the Indianapolis Colts football team...has again ponied-up some cash to perpetuate the Lowell Beat writer's legacy. James Irsay recently donated $10,000 to the Lowell Celebrates Kerouac Committee. It is the largest single donation the organization has ever received, said Steve Edington, the group's treasurer.... The Lowell Celebrates Kerouac group is a non-profit organization founded in 1985. It is dedicated to celebrating and spreading knowledge on Kerouac's life and literature." -- Melissa Almonor, the Lowell (MA) Sun
