NY governor Cuomo announces one of the first projects of new Office of Faith-Based Services is $50m fund to help nonprofits help poor.

"Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Sunday proposed a $50 million state program aimed at helping non-profits build housing and provide services for the poor. 'There are many religious organizations, many not-for-profits who want to help but don't have the capacity to help -- just don't know how to do it, and they don't have the funds,' Cuomo said. 'We want to put together a program this year that does just that.'" -- Jon Campbell, the Lower Hudson Journal News
