Following "successful career as a search-and-rescue pilot," Prince William joins nonprofit air-ambulance charity, will donate salary back to charity.

"East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA), a registered charity, reveals the Duke of Cambridge is joining the service as a helicopter pilot. The Duke will be employed like other staff by Bond Air Services and will draw a salary but will donate it in full to charity. The Duke is believed to be the first member of the Royal Family in direct succession to the throne to sign an employment contract with a civilian employer. The Prince is expected to complete a mandatory training programme, starting this year, before beginning work with the charity in spring 2015, flying both day and night shifts. The Duke will start as a co-pilot but after training will be qualified to fly as a helicopter commander." -- Alan Cole, Xperedon.com
