
Evan Sparks is a writer and editor based in Washington, D.C. He is managing editor of
Philanthropy, the flagship publication of The Philanthropy Roundtable, a national association of donors working to promote freedom, opportunity, and personal responsibility through their giving. At
Philanthropy he has covered higher education, donor intent, and a variety of other subjects.
Before joining the Roundtable, Evan was an associate editor at the American Enterprise Institute. In addition to his writing for
Philanthropy, his articles and reviews have appeared in the
Wall Street Journal,
Forbes.com, the
Weekly Standard, the
American,
TCS Daily, and other outlets. He was an inaugural Washington Fellow at the National Review Institute in 2009-10, and is a writer for the National Geographic Bee.
Evan graduated from Tulane University in New Orleans, where, after Hurricane Katrina, he coordinated disaster relief for a Presbyterian church.
